So I came across this clip and it got me thinking … What do we do to help our [great] grand parents?

Do we do enough for those who played some part in creating the people we are today; who baby sat us, brought us treats and made us feel cherished; who showed us how to pound maize and cook kuku?

Do we get so caught up on our here and now that we forget them?

Do we not remember to show them that they are loved?

Do we let them know that they are NOT a bother?

Sit down and think about it. When was the last time you visited cucu (grandma) and just sat and talked over some sour porridge laughing at those stories about dad’s antics as a kid?

Do you know how gukas (grandpa) health is, has he been going for regular check ups?

Are they keeping active and enjoying their old age?

Pick up the phone and give them a call, chat a while, because trust me if you don’t it will hit you like a bag of bricks when they’re no longer here and all you have left is a bunch of should-could-wouldas and missed memories.

Let me know what you think :)
